Group Get-Together - Projector Play Day
Plenty of the Hinterland Art Group members turned up for a play day at the Banana Shed on Saturday, August 21, 2010 . We brought photos, canvas or drawing paper, pastel and pencils. Of course we brought cakes for a yummy shared morning tea as well.
As this was the first time we tried to use the new projector and lap top to copy images onto paper we had a few hiccups to figure out. How to copy a photo onto the computer, to scan, to save, and to project the right size and shape, to fit the paper. Thanks to Alan, Jeff and Deb for sorting out the computer stuff.
What was the best tool to draw around and image with…. Oil sticks were too fat and pencil was the best! While the artists were playing with their toys, the visitors had a great time chatting and leaning on the verandah of the Banana Shed in the sun. Some of us were impressed by the pocket sized projector Bob brought it would be another great toy to use, especially once the photos were already edited on the lap top.
Soon Wally will be putting up a locked cupboard in the Banana Shed to house our group toys, like the projector. Then group members will be able to access the equipment to use at the shed whenever they are starting a new painting and want to project perspective and outlines onto their support surface, canvas or paper.
