Bus Excursion - September 25, 2011
Our most recent bus trip was to the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art to see, in particular, the "Surrealism" Exhibition, including a remarkable selection of paintings and sculptures by surrealists Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte, Victor Brauner, Joan Miró, Alberto Giacometti, Max Ernst and Paul Delvaux.
There was also an exhibition of the photographic works of Henri Cartier-Bresson - in many cases his photographs have become defining records of modern history, portraits of European culture from the 1930s to the 1970s. Also on display was an exhibition of Contemporary Art from the Torres Strait Islands.
